Fingerless Gloves
Free Pattern: Seattle gloves WORSTED weight
Sun. October 31st 2010 5pm
Last but not least, finally released today the Seattle WORSTED weight fingerless gloves knitted with needle size US#7. The yarn used here are Malabrigo (red) and an unidentified worsted weight in my stash (brown). Just like the Seattle ARAN, I included two sizes: medium Mens and medium Womens. For picture tutorials and DK/ARAN sizes click here and here. Frogging makes you a stronger knitter... In order to find out how much yarn was in each glove, I frogged the pieces. My husband asked me if that was hard to do and my answer is: not at all! Frogging, or ripping out, is part of knitting/...

Free pattern: Seattle gloves ARAN weight
Thu. October 28th 2010 6pm
Last week I was contacted on Ravelry by a knitter named Becky. She told me that she wanted to make a fingerless glove for her husband, preferably with my Seattle pattern using ARAN weight yarn. Since my original Seattle gloves are knitted with US#3, and Becky wants to make them with ARAN weight yarn, re-calculations and ultimately re-writing the whole pattern are in order. Instead of just re-calculate/re-write the existing pattern, I want to show you what it entails to do this. It's a lot of work! What happens if... Question: Let's say Becky would have printed out my original...

Free Pattern: Lana Gloves
Wed. July 28th 2010 9pm
Note added 01-04-2011: **This pattern calls for 160 yards of worsted weight yarn, but if you have a skein of only 150 yards (such as 6-ply Mongolian Cashmere from Jade Sapphire) just SKIP STEP 6 in the pattern and you will be fine!** These long fingerless gloves made out of Cascade Venezia will make any girl feel feminine and a bit naughty. Knitted straight and then later seamed. These are similar to the Adrienne Gloves but have a smoother appearance. Go to the Adrienne Glove page to see a general picture tutorial on how to seam your glove and were to place thumb...
