Pompom Invasion

The first 4 pompoms

Hi there, how is everybody? Did you have a wonderful weekend?

I was going to do some knitting for myself this weekend but instead I opted for making pompoms. My wrists and hands were hurting and they desperately needed a little bit of rest. However, I desperately need to play with my favorite material called yarn.

What's a yarn addict to do, eh?

My very first pompom

I have been wanting to make a pompom for the longest and finally last Saturday, I made my very first one:

My very first pompom

I never thought that a making a pompom would entertain me in the way it did. Not to mention how cute and soft a little pompom feels. What a sweet little thing.

I made another one, and another one, and before I knew it, I was surrounded by soft and round little creatures.

By making these pompom, I was also able to see how the strands look from the inside. In the picture above, you can see how round this yarn is. To see the diameter of this super bulky weight Malabrigo Rasta, evoked all kinds of inspirational visions.

Pompom maker by the brand Clover

To make my pompoms, I used a nifty little tool by the brand Clover. They remind me of space ships...

On the package you will find simple instructions. Really super easy!

At some point, there were pompom every where around me. I was laughing and giggling all Saturday from early in the morning to late in the evening. I pulled out left over balls of yarn and put them to good use.

What in the world is she going to do with all of those pompoms, you might wonder? I really have no idea... all I know is that I love making them!

Glamfrog, who overlooked the production of my pompoms approved. Glamfrog says:

"Do what you LOVE. If you love to make pompoms for no particular reason, make many. And then make some more."

Thank you, oh wise Glamfrog... I will heed your advice for as long as I live!

The beginning of a brand new week

Today is the beginning of a brand new week and as always, I have a lot of energy to tackle anything that is on my knitting/designing path for the coming days.

My craft show is coming weekend and I still have a lot to knit, but I also realize that my poor wrists can only take so much.

See, you really have to find a balance with that production knitting...

Okay folks, this is it for today... thanks for visiting and see you tomorrow!

I couldn't resist taking a break from my busyness and popping in to see what you are up to. Pom-poms! I love them and all the colors you have. :-) Fascinating seeing those multi-color ones.  I purchased those pom-pom makers not long ago and love the simplicity and even pom-poms they make. Sure beats winding yarn around a piece of cardboard! I am not worried about you figuring out something to do with them. In fact, I can hardly wait to see what it is! :-)  Such fun! :-)

Judi, you must be so very busy for your event tomorrow! Thanks so much for popping in to see what I am up to :)

Who would have thought that making pompoms could bring so much joy to a grown up woman like me...

Good luck tomorrow, I am sure your homemade/homebaked goodness will be happily received and enjoyed by your guests!
